Cape Henry Associates (CHA) is honored to have been recognized by Virginia Values Veterans (V3) and the Virginia Department of Veterans Services at the ninth annual Virginia Women Veterans Summit for our 2021 efforts in hiring women veterans. CHA hired seven women veterans during that period. This is the fifth year this prestigious award has been presented.

The award was announced at the 2022 summit in Richmond, Va., June 15. CHA’s Katie Askew was in attendance, with CHA’s Gretchen Boals and Kara Weaver, both women veterans. The theme of this year’s summit was “Empowered! Sisters in Arms Inspiring Generations” and, according to Katie, they “all left feeling EMPOWERED by our time there.” With a host of guest speakers covering topics ranging from personal stories about obstacles and successes experienced during active duty to diversity, glass ceilings, sexual assault/trauma in the workplace, gender discrimination, and current efforts to assist women veterans in the workforce, the event offered attendees valuable information to take back to their respective workplaces.
